Office of Distance Learning and University Summer Sessions Has Moved - 02/05/2008
The Office of Distance Learning and University Summer Sessions has moved to Suite 120 in the University Gateway Center at 902 Prices Fork Road (at the intersection of Prices Fork and University City Blvd.) in Blacksburg. The mail code for the Gateway Center is 0392.
To best facilitate day-to-day course development and support work with faculty, IDDL's Instructional Design, Development, and Support Unit will remain in its current offices in 3120 Torgersen Hall.
No changes will be made in Web, e-mail, or telephone for distance learning or summer sessions.
Announcing Spring 2008 FDI Teaching and Technology Workshops - 12/17/2007
IDDL will host a series of faculty enrichment workshops during the Spring 2008 semester focused on eLearning in the classroom through the Faculty Development Institute.
The series of workshops begin February 8, 2008 and will run through March 28, 2008. All the workshops will be held in 3060 Torgersen Hall from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. The workshop dates and topics include:
- February 8th: "Connecting With Students Through Online Interaction"
- February 15th: "Narration: An Easy Way to Add Value to Powerpoint Presentations (Adobe Presenter, formerly Macromedia Breeze)"
- February 22nd: "Real Time Online Communication - Centra 7.5"
- March 14th: "Faculty Experiences in Distance Learning: A Panel Discussion"
- March 21st: "Creating Effective Video Tutorials with Camtasia Studio"
- March 28th: "Test Creation for Distance Classes"
