Application Process
Master of Science in Life Sciences with an Option in Health Product Risk Management
- Official transcripts and three letters of recommendation are required for application to the graduate degree, but GRE scores are not required.

Graduate Certificate in Health Product Risk Management
- Admission to the Graduate Certificate Program will be as a non-degree seeking Commonwealth Campus student. This status permits students to take up to 12 graduate credit hours. Please click here for the step-by-step process.
- Only official copies of transcripts are required for admission to the Graduate Certificate.
Note: Regardless of original admissions status, all graduate coursework
taken at Virginia Tech may be used toward a graduate degree once admitted into a program of study.
Post-Deadline Admission
- If admission is sought after the graduate application deadline, permission to take courses for one semester only is available using an Expedited Commonwealth Campus status. However, application for full admission must be made during the semester, for permission will not be granted for a second semester in Expedited Commonwealth Campus status.
- Please designate your "Campus" (a required field) as "Virtual."
- Only unofficial copies of transcripts are required for admission into Commonwealth Campus status.
Registration Process
After you have received your personal identification (called a "PID") and password, you may:
- If admitted into Commonwealth Campus status, proceed to the upcoming semester's timetable of classes on VTOnline
- Find the appropriate course which will give you all applicable information. At the bottom of this page you will be directed to add the course to your cart if you wish to register for that course
- Once added, you will be given the opportunity to add more courses, or proceed to registration
- If fully admitted into a graduate degree program, proceed to the Hokie SPA
Tuition and Fees
All online graduate courses are considered "extended campus" with regard to using the table of tuition rates, available through the Bursars Office.
